Membership deals offer fitness incentive

People looking to get into shape in the New Year can give their fitness and finances a boost, with New Year membership offers at Dudley Council leisure centres.

The local authority has recently made improvements at Crystal Leisure Centre, with Halesowen Leisure Centre expected to reopen in January. The £18m brand new Duncan Edwards centre will open in Dudley town centre later in January.

Any new Direct Debit member, joining the Lifestyle membership scheme between 2 January and 14 February, will pay nothing until 1 March 2022 with memberships starting from £27 per month.

New annual payment members, also joining the Lifestyle membership scheme between 2 January and 14 February 2022, will be offered a 12-month membership for the price of 10 months, starting from £270.

Memberships can be used at Crystal, Dudley and Halesowen leisure centre as well as the Dell Stadium and include unlimited public swimming (excluding the leisure pool at Crystal Leisure Centre), unlimited gym use (including a free gym induction), unlimited fitness classes and unlimited sauna access at Duncan Edwards Leisure Centre when it opens late January 2022.

Members will also get a 50 per cent reduction on badminton, squash, racketball and table tennis (Monday to Friday until 5pm and all weekend), unlimited use of the running track at the Dell Stadium at selected times, plus seven-day advance telephone and online leisure bookings for fitness classes, badminton, squash, racket ball, and five-a-side. Terms and conditions apply to all memberships.

We are preparing for a rush of activity to take advantage of our fantastic deal and the new facilities in January.
A lot of people will be thinking about their New Year’s resolution and the message we are keen to get out is that our centres offer affordable leisure activities for everyone no matter what their fitness levels and aspirations may be.
We’re incredibly excited about opening the Duncan Edwards Leisure Centre in January and we are equally proud of the fantastic new and improved facilities at Halesowen and Crystal.

The new Duncan Edwards facility will include a 25 metre, eight-lane swimming pool and a teaching pool with spectator provision, a 100-station gym and fitness suite, two group exercise studios for a wide range of exercise classes, an immersive cycle studio (the only one in the Black Country) and a four-court sports hall suitable for indoor football, badminton and other sports.

For families with younger children there will be a soft play area with catering facilities a party room, and a café open to all users of the centre. There will also be power-assisted gym equipment for specialist support, which may be particularly beneficial for those recovering from injury, older customers and those living with long-term health conditions, as well as a sauna facility.

Crystal Leisure Centre saw improvements to its existing changing rooms and swimming pools with modern village style changing facilities opening in the summer.

Halesowen Leisure Centre is getting improvements to the gym, a new children’s Adventure Play area, a new look entrance and reception area and café which will be open in the New Year. The revamped changing rooms and improvements to the swimming pool to cater for learner and advanced swimmers with a poolside viewing area will be open in Summer 2022
