New phone line offering benefits advice
A new helpline has been set up offering benefits advice for people in the borough affected by the coronavirus outbreak.
Callers will be able to get information, advice and guidance on the welfare benefits available to them.
The line will be manned on Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 1pm, and 2pm to 4.30pm.
Councillor Steve Clark, cabinet member for finance, said:
“We want to give all the help we can to people in the borough who, through no fault of their own, have seen their financial circumstances change as a direct result of the coronavirus outbreak.
“We appreciate it can be a worrying time and would urge people in this position to pick up the phone.
“Our excellent advisors will make sure they explore every avenue available to get financial help.”
People can call the line on (01384) 815002, or log onto www.dudley.gov.uk/residents/benefits/welfare-rights-service for further information.
