Parks development manager Daniel Fildes with Councillor Damian Corfield visited High Arcal Park to discuss the plans

New Year gift for Dudley children

Dudley Council has confirmed that improvements will be made to a play area in Upper Gornal next month.

The local authority is utilising central government funding to make the £65,000 investment to High Arcal Park off Glen Road.

Work to install the new equipment is expected to start by February.

The play area will include a new multi play unit that will provide play opportunity for a range of ages and abilities, a new inclusive roundabout, swings and an inclusive springer.

The council is also refurbishing the zip wire, providing a range of thermographs and play panels and will be resurfacing and tidying up the play area.

Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for highways and environment, said:

“Dudley Council is always working to find possible funding to improve and update play areas in our parks and green spaces.

“We are delighted to be planning improvements to the High Arcal Park play area in the New Year utilising UKSPF funding from the government.”
