Online parking payment proving popular

Motorists are reminded they can take advantage of app-based payment at Dudley Council car parks, with more than 700 people using it every day.

Unlike some other parking apps, there is no additional charge to customers when paying using the Swift Parking App.

The number of people in Dudley borough who have signed up to the app since it was first offered on August 16, has more than doubled in the last month.

People using Dudley Council’s pay and display car parks can continue to pay with cash. The first two hours of parking remains free in all Dudley Council car parks.

Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for public realm, said:

"The Swift Parking App is proving to be very popular with people who use our pay and display car parks, while those who prefer to pay in cash can still do so.

"We are also continuing to offer the first two hours of parking for free across the borough to help boost town centre trade.”

The Swift Parking App can be downloaded for free.
