Online portal expanded to help borough carers

A new online portal has been expanded to make it easier for carers in the borough to get information, advice and support.

The latest tile on the Adult Social Care in Dudley portal went live this week and will be available to use 24 hours a day.

The portal offers a new and secure way for residents, carers, partners and professionals to interact online.

People can use it to get information and advice on adult social care, look for support activities in the area they live and find out if they would need to contribute financially to their care.

Once fully established, it will give residents and their carers greater flexibility in the way they access social care by being able to submit forms and assessments online if preferred.

Councillor Nicolas Barlow, cabinet member for health and adult social care, said:

I am very pleased to see the launch of the latest expansion to our adult social care portal.
This latest section is designed to make carers’ lives easier by providing easier access to information in a way that is tailored to their needs. And, as it is available 24/7, they will be able to interact with it at a time to suit them.
We will be rolling out more expansions and improvements to the adult social care portal throughout this year.
We know that some people are not online, and they can be reassured that we will continue to offer the existing methods of communication.

People using the portal will be invited to set up a personal account enabling them to tailor information to their needs and checking if they could be eligible for any additional help or support.

Professionals will also be able to submit referrals online and raise concerns.

Residents can continue to use the current ways of communicating with adult social care if they prefer.

The portal can be accessed at https://adultssocialcare.dudley.gov.uk/
