Online seminars to offer health help
A series of online seminars are being held next month to help the borough’s BAME communities live longer, safer and healthier lives.
The sessions, to be streamed live on Zoom, come in the light of government and public health reports that people from BAME communities have suffered disproportionately during the coronavirus pandemic.
Dudley Council’s public health team is working together with Brierley Hill-based Cornerstone Community Church and Transforming Communities Together to deliver the seminars.
They will give people from BAME communities, employers, health and care professionals, carers and volunteers an opportunity to listen to and put questions to experts about their health and wellbeing.
The ‘Friday Focus Webinars’ will take place on Fri July 3rd, Fri July 10th, Fri July 17th, Fri July 24th and Friday July 31st from 7.15pm to 8.30pm via Zoom. The seminars will also be recorded and shared on the Cornerstone Community Church’s Youtube channel.
Topics covered include mental health and wellbeing, safety in the workplace and the impact of Covid-19 on diabetics.

The coronavirus has had a disproportionate impact in BAME communities.
These seminars will provide an opportunity to explore information coming out of the lockdown from public health, NHS and community specialists.
We want to provide information, advice and guidance so that our BAME communities feel reassured.
