Park Active exercise sessions in Kates Hill to relaunch in March

Free Park Active exercise sessions in Kates Hill are to relaunch, as the project marks its third anniversary.

The circuit-based fitness classes will return to Buffery Park on Wednesdays from 9.30 to 10.15am, beginning March 2.

After 12 months of disruption due to COVID-19 restrictions, Park Active has recovered strongly with volunteers and participants eager to get back into the great outdoors.

More than 1,700 people have attended Park Active sessions since they began in 2019. This high demand has led to the return of the Buffery Park class.

Councillor Nicolas Barlow, cabinet member for health and adult social care, said:

Park Active does important work to improve physical and mental health in Dudley borough and I would like to thank all of the dedicated volunteers for their efforts over the past three years.
As the weather slowly begins to improve, I am pleased to hear Kates Hill residents will soon be able to enjoy these classes at their local park once again.

Park Active sessions also continue to take place on Mondays at Stevens Park in Quarry Bank, Saturdays at Stevens Park in Wollescote, and on Sundays at Grange Park in Dudley and the Dell Stadium in Brierley Hill.

Each class is led by a qualified volunteer instructor and designed to suit people of all ages and abilities.

Bookings must be made in advance via Eventbrite. Participants should wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring hand sanitiser and a drink.
