Karen next to parking pay machine

People can pay online for parking

Searching for change can become a thing of the past at Dudley Council car parks, with app-based payments being made available from next Monday (August 16).

Motorists using Dudley Council’s pay and display car parks can continue to pay with cash and will also have the option to pay through the Swift Parking App, which can be downloaded for free.

Unlike some other parking apps, there is no additional charge to customers when paying using the Swift Parking App.

The first two hours of parking remains free in all Dudley Council car parks.

Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for public realm, said:

We are pleased to be able to offer people this alternative way to park in our car parks, as motorists have asked us to explore digital pay options.
People can rest assured we will also keep the existing option to pay and display with cash using the existing machines.”
