Play a DJ set at Dudley Pride this summer
Aspiring DJs are in with a chance of showcasing their talents at the first ever outdoor Dudley Pride event on Saturday 20 July.
A panel of judges including DJ Stu Ojelay from Word of Mouth events will pick the winner based on their demo submission. The winner will get a 45 minute slot at the event in Dudley Market place, sharing the same stage as Stu Ojelay, Xfactor finalist Georgia Burgess and Birmingham’s Rainbow Voices Choir, drag queens Queen Trixie Lee and Baga Chipz MBE, star of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, who is headlining the event.
To enter simply upload a demo mix of approx. 15 minutes with a minimum of 6 tracks to either a personal social media Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #dudleyprideDJcomp24 or email the link to capa.events@dudley.gov.uk
Entry closes at midnight on 15 June. The winner must be available to perform at Dudley Pride on Saturday 20 July between 1 and 4pm, able to use CDJs to mix with their music on USB sticks for a 45 minute set.

“We are so excited to be able to host our first outdoor Pride event. We’ve always supported it but this is the first time, thanks to the Commonwealth Legacy Fund, that we’ve been able to celebrate on such a scale.
“It’s set to be a brilliant family day and we’re hoping for big crowds which is why winning this coveted 45 minute DJ slot is so worthwhile. I’d encourage aspiring DJs to get those demos uploaded as soon as possible.
Stone Street Square will have a stage and marquee from 1 to 8pm. This colourful fun day of celebration will be open to everyone and will be free of charge thanks to external funding from the government’s Commonwealth Legacy Fund. There will be funfair rides, stalls and food and drink options throughout the event, which is being supported by the local businesses.
Dudley Pride will have road closures in place for Tower Street and Stone Street from the junction with Priory Street and up to the junction at Union Street.
