Potential delays for motorists
Motorists travelling through Halesowen are being warned to expect delays with the part closure of a road for several weeks.
South bound traffic in Grange Hill, Halesowen, will be closed from Monday (Oct 25) until November 19.
The closure is the result of a request from Western Power Distribution for them to install 126metres of cable and connect it to the power network. The work has been delayed by more than a year.
Traffic will be diverted along Manor Way (westbound), Hagley Road A456, Hagley Hill A456, Birmingham Road A456, Stourbridge Road A491, Sandy Lane A491, Money Lane B4551, Bromsgrove Road B4551, and Grange Hill B4551.
The council will be monitoring the work closely to ensure traffic can move as freely along alternative routes and north bound past the works.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for public realm, said:
This work has been requested by the power company as essential and we are doing all we can to help them. We know it will cause disruption for motorists and we are putting measure in place to try and alleviate that. We would like to apologise to people travelling through that area for any delays cause by the power company’s work.
