Pride in Dudley

Pride in Dudley

People are invited to attend an evening of special performances to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community in Dudley borough.

The inaugural ‘Pride in Dudley’ event takes place at Dudley Town Hall on Thursday June 29 from 6.30 to 8.30pm and is free to attend.  The Deputy Mayor of Dudley will be in attendance.

There will be a performance by West Midlands Rainbow Voices Choir, which has been the established and popular West Midlands community choir for LGBTQIA+ people and their friends since 1995.

Black Country-born author Mendez will perform via video link. Mendez is a novelist and contributor to national media including the Times Literary Supplement, the Guardian and other publications.

The headline act will be Dudley singer-songwriter Eddy Luna whose musical inspiration is drawn from her family and all eras to produce a completely unique experience.

Councillor Pete Lee, Deputy Mayor of Dudley, said:

This event is about bringing Pride to Dudley’s LGBTQ+ community and their allies.
For the last couple of years, representatives from Dudley Council have attended Birmingham Pride but we now want to bring the celebrations closer to home.
Many of the performers not only have strong local roots but have also recently performed at Birmingham Pride so this new event is not to be missed.

The event is free but people need to register in advance at Eventbrite.
