Residents in Dudley borough are being urged to register if they want to vote in the elections in May.

People will be heading to the polls on May 2 but people must be registered.
Kevin O’Keefe, Dudley Council chief executive and electoral returning officer, said:

If people are not registered they cannot vote in any of the forthcoming elections, and they deny themselves their right to have their say in the democratic process.
Registering is quick and easy online and means your voice is heard in these important elections.

People need ID if they want to vote at a polling station under rules which came into force last year.
It includes a driving licence, passport and some travel passes. A full list is available online.
Anyone without ID can apply for a free voter authority certificate until April 24.
The deadline to register to vote is April 16.
