Relining programme continues
Thousands of metres of lining have been repainted across the borough during the summer season.
Dudley Council has brought in lining crews to carry out the essential work as part of its commitment to maintaining the borough’s roads.
Nearly 68,000m of lining was repainted between the start of July and end of September.
This includes repainting nearly 36,000m of double yellow lines and refreshing lines in Dudley town centre.
Further work is underway in Stourbridge town centre and Quarry Bank. The lining in Halesowen town centre was refreshed earlier this year.
Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for highways and environmental services, said:
We invest thousands of pounds in maintaining painted lines across the borough every year.
This work is an essential part of what do to help reduce congestion and keep our roads moving
The summer is the busiest time in our lining programme, it’s when we’re able to make the most of the good weather and get crews out all over the borough.
But the programme will continue over the coming months as weather permits.
