Reminder to nominate for Mayor’s Civic Awards

People can still nominate those who go above and beyond for their community ahead of the 22nd annual Mayor’s Ball and Civic Awards. 

The event will bring together people and businesses from across Dudley borough at the Copthorne Hotel Merry Hill on Friday 25 April.

The public have until Sunday 16 March to nominate individuals and groups for the awards, which are being organised in association with Jewson Partnership Solutions.

There are six categories that people or organisations can be nominated for are:

• Thomas Attwood award for education
• Frank Foley award for community spirit
• Duncan Edwards award for sport
• Cedrick Hardwick award for arts
• William Shenstone award for environment
• Mike Holder award for business

Winners will be announced on the evening with all money raised going to the Mayoral appeal fund in aid of Access in Dudley, Diabetes UK and Friends of Dudley Performing Arts.

Councillor Hilary Bills, Mayor of Dudley, said:

“We have so many remarkable and generous spirited people in our borough, and we are asking residents to nominate those who go above and beyond to make a difference for the Mayor’s Civic Awards.

“The event is a unique and special opportunity to bring borough communities and businesses together, as we celebrate our unsung heroes and raise money for charitable causes.”

The event will a drinks reception at 6.45pm followed by dinner at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from www.mayorofdudley.org.uk
