Residents invited to have their say on play areas
People who live in Dudley borough are being invited to have their say on play areas in parks and open spaces.
Dudley Council is creating a new strategy, which will explore how the council invests and develops its play area provision.
The aim is to share resources across the borough, with a particular focus to be placed on areas of the borough that might not have as much choice in play equipment for young people.
It’s hoped parents and young people will take the opportunity to have their say on what they would like to see in borough parks, and where they would be most likely to access it.
The online survey, which runs until 9 June at www.dudley.gov.uk/playareastrategy, will also give community and residents groups and partner organisations the chance to engage.
There will be a community event at Netherton Park on Wednesday 31 May where residents can talk to people representing the council.
Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member elect for environment, said:
I would urge parents, young people and community groups to let us have their thoughts on play facilities in Dudley borough parks.
By taking part in the short online survey, people can help us to decide how children and young people can access their play areas in the future.
The new play strategy will look at giving all our children and young people the opportunity to access play facilities in green spaces spread across the borough.
We also want young people who use the parks and their parents to guide us on the sorts of facilities and equipment they would like.”
