Ryemarket car park re-opens
Stourbridge’s Ryemarket car park has re-opened today (Wednesday 28 October) after repairs to the fire damaged building.
The car park was closed due to a fire in early September, but repair works and testing have been completed and the car park reopened today.
The Ryemarket is the main car park for the town centre, and with limited parking on the High Street due to the physical COVID measures, the reopening will benefit both businesses and shoppers.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environmental, highways and street services, said:
We’ve worked hard to get the car park open and safe for users after the fire earlier last month.
We know people really value being able to park in town to help them with their shopping. I’m really glad that we’ve been able to get it open and working to help people with their shopping and hopefully bring more business into the town centres for our traders and businesses.
