Share your views on a new vision for Lye and Stour Valley

Residents and businesses have been invited to share their opinions and ideas for the regeneration of Lye and Stour Valley.

Dudley Council is looking to engage with people in Lye to get their views on the future development of the high street and its surroundings. The consultation comes ahead of the creation of a masterplan and design code for the area.

The masterplan and design code will outline the expectations for future development in Lye and Stour Valley, covering issues like the character of the local area, housing, transport, infrastructure, and services available in the town centre.

Urban design and planning specialists Building Design Partnership are supporting the project, which will ultimately identify potential development opportunities and attract investment.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:

We’re keen to hear plenty of feedback from residents and businesses in Lye and the surrounding area during this consultation.
The views of people in the local community will be taken into account throughout the whole process as we work to make Lye a better place to live, work, shop and socialise.
A draft master plan and the design code work that has been produced to date can be found via the council website, along with a link to complete the consultation.

The questionnaire will also be available to be complete in-person in the entrance area of Christ Church and in Lye Library until Friday 23 June. An information pack will also be available in these locations.

All participants who submit a completed questionnaire will be entered into a draw to receive a high street shopping voucher worth £100.

The council’s planning policy team will be able to answer questions about the consultation via email to planning.policy@dudley.gov.uk or over the phone on 01384 814698.
