Sign up for this month’s e-billing prize draw
Borough residents who sign up to receive their council tax bill as an e-bill could win up to £500 this month.
More than 20,000 people have already opted into the convenience of e-billing for their council tax bill. The authority is now encouraging more people to make the switch with those signing up, along with the 20,000 already registered, being entered into a monthly prize draw offering a £500 first prize, £250 second prize and £100 third prize.
December's winners were from Wordsley, Stourbridge and Brierley Hill winning a total of £850 between them, just in time for Christmas. The remaining two draws are on January 30 and February 27.
Residents signing up will be entered into the next and any subsequent draw, meaning those already registered for e-billing or signing up before January 30 having two remaining chances to win a prize.
Previously, paper copies of council tax bills were sent to all residents. By switching to receiving their bill by email, residents are helping to reduce paper, printing and postage costs, making savings that can be reinvested into services that matter most.
Councillor Steve Clark, cabinet member for resources, said:
“We’ve seen nearly 1,500 new e-billing sign-ups since we started the prize draw. This is win-win for everyone, not just the prize winners. Each year we spend a significant amount of money sending paper council tax bills to residents. Every sign-up will make a difference, as the money used on paper and postage can be diverted into helping us maintain essential services.
“Registering for a MyDudley account and e-billing is quick and easy, giving you access to your account at your convenience, wherever you are. There are still two chances of winning a prize if you sign up before 30 January.”
Switching to e-billing is easy to do. Residents can sign up for e-billing using their MyDudley account and their council tax reference from their latest bill. If people don’t have that to hand, they can answer a couple of quick verification questions.
People who sign up for e-billing will start to receive their council tax bill digitally.
