Social worker shortlisted for prestigious award
Dudley Council social worker, Sharon Plaskitt, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Stars of Children & Young People Awards.
Qualified as a social worker for 18 years, and working in the Children in Care Team, Sharon has been selected as a finalist in the Exceptional Children and Families Social Worker Award category.
An advanced social worker practitioner, Sharon was nominated by a young person in the care system that she has worked with for 18 months, and who wanted to highlight and recognise her work and support.
Councillor David Stanley, cabinet member for children and young people said:
“These awards recognise and celebrate the very best of the children and young people sector and I am delighted that Sharon’s work has made such an impact that a young person has taken the time to tell how much her support means to them”
All shortlisted entries will be reviewed by an expert panel of judges who have a wealth of experience in the sector and are passionate about recognising and shining a light on the stars of the CYP sector.
The winner will be announced on 16 May at a ceremony being held in Manchester.
