Spring COVID-19 booster on offer at pop-up clinics in Dudley borough

Pop-up clinics offering the spring COVID-19 booster vaccination have opened in several locations in Dudley borough.

People who are eligible to receive the spring booster can visit the clinics in Brierley Hill, Dudley, Halesowen, Lye and Stourbridge with no need to book an appointment.

The pop-up clinics will be offering the booster to people aged over 75, as well as those aged over 18 with a weakened immune system. Those aged between 5 and 17 with immune system issues should arrange an appointment with their GP.

People aged over 18 who are yet to receive their first and second doses of the vaccine will also be able to have these at the clinics.

Friendly vaccinators will be on hand to answer questions about the vaccine, as well as offering blood pressure checks and general health advice.

Mayada Abu Affan, acting director of public health at Dudley Council, said:

These pop-up clinics are friendly, pressure-free spaces where people who are eligible can come forward to receive their spring booster vaccinations.
Taking this small step will help to reduce the risk of serious illness from COVID-19 while helping to protect your friends and family.

The clinics will be open:

  • Mondays from 3pm to 7pm in Crown Square in Stourbridge (from 1 May)
  • Fridays from 9am to 1pm on Market Place in Dudley town centre
  • Every other Friday from 2pm to 6pm in Lye by the war memorial (from 28 April)
  • Every other Saturday from 9am to 1pm at the Moor Centre in Brierley Hill (from 29 April)
  • Monday 22 May from 3pm to 7pm at Sledmere Community Centre in Dudley

Several community centres in the borough will also be hosting clinics in May and June. More information is available on the Black Country Integrated Care Board website.

In addition to the pop-up clinics, COVID-19 vaccinations are available at a number of community pharmacies and other vaccine sites across the Black Country.

You can find your nearest site or book online via the National Booking System, or by calling 119.
