Stevens Park retains Green Flag status
Stevens Park in Quarry Bank has retained the prestigious Green Flag status for the second year running.
Green Flag us international quality mark for parks and green spaces, which has been bestowed on several other Dudley borough parks in previous years.
The allotment association at Abbey Road in Halesowen has built upon previous years' success to sustain their community green flag award for the 10th year running and the Friends of Wollescote Park have achieved the community Green Flag award for their sensory garden project on the park.
Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said:
“We are delighted that Stevens Park has retained the Green Flag status.
“In recent years the park has received almost £2million of investment through the Heritage Lottery Project this has transformed it into an incredible space for the local community
“I would like to thank everyone involved in making the park what it is today, especially the volunteers, members of The Friends group and our green care crews.
“I would also like to congratulate Abbey Road allotments and the Friends of Wollescote Park on their success in retaining their green flag status.”
