Still time to take part in Council Tax Reduction Scheme consultation

Residents can still have their say on proposed changes to Dudley Council’s Council Tax Reduction Scheme (CTR).

The scheme provides eligible working-age people with a discount on council tax, but as the council works towards setting a balanced budget it is consulting on proposals to increase the minimum payment to 60 per cent.

The proposals will not affect people of pension age and is not related to council tax discounts, such as single person discounts.

The consultation will run until 16 January online at https://www.dudley.gov.uk/ctr/

Councillor Steve Clark, cabinet member for finance, said:

“Local authorities across the country are having to take difficult decisions, and as a part of our budget proposals we are undertaking a consultation on changes to the Council Tax Reduction Scheme.

“We are asking residents to look at these proposals and have their say, with the consultation running until 16 January.”
