Storytime in Dudley
Dudley libraries are running storytime sessions for children aged under 5 as part of the BookTrust Storytime programme.
Five books have been specially selected for the group readings, and families can vote for their favourite. Children attending will also be given a free sticker book and characters.
The books being read are ‘Look Out! Hungry Snake’ by Paul Delaney, ‘Ten Little Ducklings’ by Lucy Rowland, ‘Whisper, Shout: Let it Out!’ by Madhvi Ramani, ‘Into the Wild’ by Thomas Docherty and ‘Roarr!’ by Sam Taplin.
GLL runs thirteen libraries on behalf of Dudley Council. Operating under the Better brand, they are Brierley Hill, Coseley, Cradley, Dudley, Gornal, Halesowen, Kingswinford, Long Lane, Lye, Netherton, Sedgley, Stourbridge and Wordsley.
“Listening to stories together is a wonderful way of introducing children to the magic of books,” said Jacqueline Bayliss, GLL’s Wordsley Library Manager.
“Libraries are a free resource for everyone and our partnership with BookTrust helps get that message out to families in our local community who may not have considered visiting a library on a regular basis to see what we offer.
“BookTrust aims to get children reading and group storytelling for the under 5s encourages interest from an early age. We’re delighted to be working with them.”
