Street cleansing team hope to sparkle at national awards
Dudley Council’s street cleansing team have been shortlisted for a national award for the fourth time in the last twelve months.
The council’s street cleaners have been nominated in the Large Team of the Year category at the 2022 LGC Awards, which recognises outstanding achievements in public service.
The team have been selected for the final phase after a rigorous first stage of judging that narrowed down a record number of entries.
Andy Vaughan, interim director of public realm at Dudley Council, said:
Our street cleaners work hard in all weathers to keep the borough looking at its best. They have been shortlisted for several awards recently and I know these nominations are richly deserved.
I would love to see the team bring another big prize back to Dudley and I wish them the very best of luck.
The winner of the award will be revealed on Wednesday 20 July at the final ceremony in London.
The recognition is the latest in a series of nominations for the street cleansing team, who have also been shortlisted for accolades by Keep Britain Tidy and the Association of Public Service Excellence in recent months.
