Street cleansing team up for national award
The award-winning team responsible for keeping Dudley’s streets clean has been nominated for another national award.
Dudley Council’s street cleansing team is shortlisted for the Annual Performance Awards hosted by the Association of Public Service Excellence (APSE).
It is in the running to lift the Best Performer trophy in the street cleansing category, with the winners announced at an awards ceremony in Blackpool on December 2.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for public realm, said:

Our team is dedicated to working in all weathers to keep our streets clean all year round and so to reach the finals of this prestigious industry awards is testament to their hard work and is very well deserved.

The team has been a finalist in the APSE awards every year since 2005 and brought the trophy back to Dudley for Best Performer in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
It also won the Service Award in 2014 after being named winner in the Best Community & Neighbourhood Initiative.
