Stress Less, Live Better - Coseley library event
Tips on how to stress less and live better are the subject of a free talk being given at Coseley Library on 3 April at 6.30pm.
April is Stress Awareness Month and author Cath Lloyd will be sharing her expertise on how stress can be managed during turbulent times, crises and traumatic experiences.
Describing herself as a ‘trauma freedom fighter, change maker, teacher and mentor’, Cath has written and published two books.
The first, ‘When Dad Became Joan’, charts her own experience of dealing with the complex emotional fallout resulting from her father choosing to become a woman.
The second, ‘4 Steps to Emotional Freedom’, is a guide on how to be happy again after a lifechanging situation.
“My talk covers what stress is, why managing stress is important, how it can be managed, how to create a positive mindset, how to find joy in everyday life, how to ask for help and how to build a stress-free routine,” said Cath.
“Unfortunately, stress is part of life, but it doesn’t have to take over your happiness. Whether you're facing everyday worries or going through a difficult time, the seven steps I talk about can help create a new normal where you stress less and enjoy life more.”
Cath is a facilitator for the Action For Happiness charity and a family mentor for the Back Up Trust which helps mothers manage traumatic experiences, anxiety and stress.
Operating under the Better brand, GLL is the not-for-profit social enterprise that runs Coseley Library on behalf of the council.
“We’re delighted to be marking Stress Awareness Month with such an inspiring and insightful talk,” said Coseley librarian Katie Goddard.
“Stress affects us all and Cath’s talk is about managing anxiety better so we can live a happier life. We look forward to welcoming her here.”
