Stumping up cash for charities
Staff and elected members at Dudley Council will be stumping up cash for the Mayor’s charities at their annual cricket match this month.
A team of council staff will be taking on councillors on July 26 in a 20-overs-per-side match.
The players will be taking to the field at Stourbridge Cricket Club’s Memorial Ground in Amblecote, from 6pm.
There will also be a raffle as the teams aim to raise as much money as they can for the Mayor of Dudley’s charities – Access in Dudley, Diabetes UK and Friends of Dudley Performing Arts.
Councillor Hilary Bills, Mayor of Dudley, said:
“The annual cricket match is always a fantastic event where the players give up their time to raise money for charity.
“It would be great to see people there on the night helping us raise as much money as we can for three very worthy charities.”
