Children and young people can keep active over the school summer holiday with DB Leisure.

Duncan Edwards, Crystal and Halesowen leisure centres will run the free-swimming offer for borough residents aged 16 and under. For terms and conditions, opening times and to register, which must be done in advance of a visit, people can go to www.freeswimindudley.co.uk

New for 2025, children aged eight to 15 can enjoy the ‘Quids In’ badminton sessions at Crystal and Duncan Edwards leisure centres. Running on set days and times, it allows children to play the sport for just £1, with no need to prebook. Full details are online now

Crystal will offer the DJ led ‘Waikiki Waves’ family water disco in the leisure pool on Fridays. Little ones can also enjoy under 5s splash time sessions at set times at Crystal and Halesowen leisure centres.

The Planet Play areas at Duncan Edwards and Halesowen leisure centres will offer soft play for children up to the age of 11, where there will also be SEN sessions for children with disabilities, ASD and special educational needs on selected days and times. Crystal’s soft play facility will also be open for children aged seven and under.

Table-tennis is available at Duncan Edwards and Crystal throughout the holidays for children aged eight years and above, with equipment available to hire.

At the Dell Stadium, children aged eight and over can also enjoy daily kickabouts on the 3G football pitch for £1 each, or £2 for over 16s. Appropriate football boots must be worn, and youngsters are asked to bring their own balls.

Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member responsible for leisure centres, said:

“There are tons of fantastic holiday activities taking place across the borough this summer and our leisure centres will help to keep children active.

“We are particularly excited to be offering our new ‘Quids In’ badminton sessions, which will build on the popularity of our £1 football sessions.

“As always we are reminding parents to make sure they register for the free swimming in advance and as the sessions are very popular, they will be run on a first come first served basis.”

All sessions and activities are subject to availability and terms and conditions apply, with a responsible adult expected to accompany children on many activities. Parents are advised to check out the latest information online before making their visit at www.dbleisure.co.uk/school-holiday-activities
