Support for international care workers
Dudley Council is hosting an event for international care workers living in Dudley borough.
International care workers provide essential care for people, particularly older people, but sometimes settling into a new country and navigating the bureaucracy can be challenging.
Dudley’s Adult Social Care team is running an information event with various organisations who will be able to provide support and advice to international care workers living in the borough.
This includes legal advice and support, immigration advice and support, CV writing, paths to employment, health advice and family support.
The event runs from 10am – noon on Friday 4 July at DY1 Community Building, Stafford Street, Dudley, DY1 1RT.
Councillor Andrea Goddard, cabinet member for adult social care said:
“Care workers contribute so much to the lives of people they care for, bringing not just practical support, but kindness and understanding.
“Care work for anyone in the sector is a rewarding but demanding job and we know that international care workers face additional obstacles as they navigate the legalities of working in the UK. We want to support them as they help us care for our loved ones.”
The event compliments Dudley’s online support for international care workers living in Dudley, especially those who may have been displaced and looking for alternative employment.
