Support for young people around results day

With GCSE and A-level results day just around the corner, support is available for young people on the next step of their journey.

A team of qualified careers advisors will be hand to support GCSE and A level students when they receive their exam results this month.

Dudley Council’s Connexions advisors will be available to offer advice and support. They can be contacted on 01384 811400 from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 August and all week from Monday 18 to Friday 22 August.  Brenda (01384 811484), Kelly (01384 811463) and Andrea (01384 811483) will be available to support you onto your next steps

The team will also be at a drop-in support session run by Black country careers hub on Friday 22 August from 11am - 7pm at the Copthorne Hotel Brierley Hill (DY5 1UR). Independent qualified careers advisors and training providers will be on hand to offer guidance and signposting.

The advisors will be able to offer students support and advice on their next steps regardless of the grades they received.

School and college leavers can also call into their local family hubs, where a range of information and signposting to support services is available.

Councillor Wayne Little, cabinet member for children’s services said:

“Exam results day can be really daunting. Whether you get the grades you want or don’t quite get what you hoped for, there are still lots of options out there.

“Our Connexions advisers are friendly, experienced and knowledgeable and they can help you on the next step of your education or career journey, do give them a call.”

A-level results day is 14 August, GCSE results day is 21 August.
