Tidy up at Dudley park
Volunteers will be carrying out a litter pick to help spruce up a Dudley park as part of a regional initiative.
Dudley Council is supporting a team of volunteers for the clean-up at Priory Park.
They will also be picking up litter at Priory ruins and Coronation Gardens.
People are welcome to volunteer at the clean-up on June 25 from 10am-noon.
The clean-up is part of a regional initiative led by Keep Britain Tidy which aims to tidy the region ahead of the Commonwealth Games.
The men and women’s cycling time trial event of the Games will run past the park on August 4.
Councillor Shaz Saleem, cabinet member for public realm, said:
I love initiatives like this where local people roll up their sleeves and help tidy up our open spaces. People like this are a huge credit to this borough and I thank them very much for their work. There’s a big summer ahead with thousands of people coming to our borough – initiatives like this help us keep the place looking in top condition.
