Virtual meetings underway
Virtual meetings are underway in Dudley after government regulations gave the green light for council business to take place online during the Covid-19 emergency.
The development control committee was the first to meet virtually on May 26 and the council has now set a programme of meetings up to August, after which the situation will be reviewed.
Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:
“I am pleased we have these on-line meetings in place to ensure we continue the proper democratic oversight and scrutiny of decisions during these difficult times.
“This is a clearly a temporary measure to enable council business to carry on during the Covid-19 pandemic and the situation will be reviewed at the end of August.
“Residents are welcome to join us and follow our programme of meetings online from the comfort of their home.”
The programme of council meetings is available on the council’s website. Follow the links from www.dudley.gov.uk to council & community and council meetings. A link to join the online meeting will be included on the agenda for each meeting. Agendas go online at least five clear working days before each meeting.
Recordings of public meetings held on Microsoft Teams will be available to view on the council’s YouTube channel within three working days of the meeting.
