Cllr Nicolas Barlow

Wellbeing scheme to offer tips on staying safe this winter

Two online Winter Wellbeing sessions are coming up in December with some important tips on staying healthy and warm at home for older and more vulnerable people in the borough.

Experts will offer advice on eating well, indoor exercise, keeping a house warm and more. There will also be an opportunity to share top tips for boosting health and wellbeing as the weather gets colder.

The first of the sessions will take place on Tuesday 14 December at 4pm, followed by the second session on Thursday 16 December at 11am. Both sessions will be held virtually via Zoom.

Councillor Nicolas Barlow, cabinet member for health and adult social care, said:
The cold has certainly begun to bite in the last few weeks and in these conditions, staying warm and safe is crucial.
Our Winter Wellbeing sessions will be a welcoming space with lots of practical advice for older people and those who care for them in these risky winter months.

Places on these sessions can be booked online via Eventbrite.

If you would like to book your place via telephone or want more information about the sessions, please call Helen O’Donnell or Neeta Patel on 01384 816437 or email helen.odonnell@dudley.gov.uk or neeta.patel@dudley.gov.uk.

Booklets which outline the support services available from the council to help older people stay safe, well and connected over the risky winter months can be picked up at local pharmacies, supermarkets or council receptions.
