vaccine van

Wren’s Nest added to vaccine van locations

Anyone aged 18 and over is urged to grab a jab at the covid vaccine van when it returns to the borough this week.

Drop-in sessions are for first or second doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

The van will be at Pensnett Trading Estate, car park of Building 5 from 9am to 6pm on Thursday 8 July and 9am to 4pm on Friday 9 July. It will also be at Halesowen Cultural Centre from 9.30am to 5.30pm on Thursday 8 July.

It moves to Somers Square, Halesowen town centre from 9am - 5pm on Saturday 10 July before heading to Wrens Nest Youth Centre from 11am - 5pm on Sunday 11 July and 10am - 6pm on Monday 12 July.

Any adult who has not had their first vaccine is invited to come along. No appointment is needed, people can just turn up.

Those with questions about the vaccine can have a no-obligation chat to the qualified health professionals who will be working there.

People do not need to be registered with a GP to join the walk-in sessions and older adults who have not yet taken up the offer of a vaccine are especially encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity.

People can also walk in and get their jab at Jhoots Pharmacy based in Brierley Hill Health and Social Care centre on Venture seven days a week from 2pm to 10pm. No appointment necessary.

Councillor Nicolas Barlow, cabinet member for health and adult social care, said:
This is the second week the vaccine van has toured the borough and we’ve seen hundreds of people taking up the offer of their first or second jab.
I’d urge anyone aged 18 or above who still hasn’t had their first dose to come along, the van gives them the flexibility to turn up at a time to suit them.
The more of us who have the vaccine, the safer we are as a community and we can move out of the restrictions, when allowed, with confidence.

Anyone displaying covid-19 symptoms should isolate and seek a test. Anyone who has tested positive for Covid-19 should follow NHS guidance and should not have their vaccine until 28 days after testing positive.

People can also book their vaccine in a number of locations across the borough by going online at www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.
