Black Country Careers Hub event

Young people from across Dudley borough are being invited to attend a free careers event on Tuesday 9 July at Merry Hill.

The event is taking place from 10am to 8pm in the lower mall, outside Marks & Spencer, and is aimed at 14- to 18-year-olds who are in key stages four and five.

Young people will have chance to meet representatives from local engineering and manufacturing organisations, colleges and training providers to discuss their aspirations, next steps and future choices.

Parties from schools and colleges will be in attendance from 10am to 2pm, with families and their children invited to attend between 3pm and 8pm.

Karen Graham, director of children’s services at Dudley Council, said:

“A vital component of our Child Friendly Dudley movement is creating good opportunities to help our young people succeed and progress into adulthood and we are pleased to support careers events such as this one.

“We know many of the borough’s schools and colleges will already be inviting pupils to attend but I would also encourage young people and their parents to also get down and find out more.”
