Dudley Council supports national launch of fostering film

Dudley Council has joined forces with fostering teams across the country to launch a short film about fostering called ‘Out There’.

The project aims to raise awareness of the vital role of a foster carer and help find more people who can provide homes for children and young people who need them.

Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children and young people, said:
In Dudley we have many amazing foster carers but the reality is we always need more. “We’re so pleased to be part of this collaboration which has resulted in a short film that really highlights the wonderfully rewarding job foster carers up and down the country do every day. The hope is this film, will be shared and viewed by people up and down the country who are thinking about fostering and want to know more about the many benefits fostering brings to children and young people and the families they find a home with. In Dudley we would really encourage anyone who has an interest in fostering to get in touch by visiting our website, emailing, calling or popping into one of our regular drop-in sessions.
Fostering in Dudley offers a rewarding career, training, guidance and 24-hour support 365 days a year.
