Dudley parents can now register to access Christmas holiday activities

Children eligible for benefit–related free school meals in the borough can now register for a scheme which offers free holiday activities over the festive period.

The Dudley Holiday Activities programme is open to children aged between five and 16 who go to school in Dudley borough and are eligible for benefit-related free meals.

Children and young people attending will be able to enjoy holiday activities and a healthy meal or snack at each session they attend.

Dudley Council has commissioned Sutton Croft to coordinate the activities across local organisations.

Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children and young people, said:

“We are working towards being a Child Friendly borough, where all children are given the best opportunities to learn and play.

“The school holidays can be challenging, and we want to support parents and carers. Here in Dudley, we offer a range of different activities from days out, multi sports, dance, crafts, cooking and more.

“I’d like to encourage eligible families to register now for the programme to benefit from activities in the Christmas school holidays.”

People can find out more about the programme – including eligibility criteria - and register online and book their activities at https://www.dudleyholidayactivities.org.uk/
