Dudley’s call for foster carers

People who are considering fostering in Dudley borough can take part in virtual sessions as part of national Foster Care Fortnight.

The awareness raising fortnight runs from 10 to 23 May, with this year’s #whywecare theme focusing on the many benefits of becoming a foster carer.

Dudley Council’s virtual sessions take place on Monday 17 May from 10 to 11am and Thursday 20 May from 6 to 7pm.

The free sessions are designed to help people find out more about fostering in Dudley with the opportunity to ask questions.

Spaces must be pre-booked online through the council’s Eventbrite page (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/fostering-information-event-tickets-135491870833?aff=ebdssbonlinesearch)

Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member elect for children’s services, said:

Fostering in Dudley offers a rewarding career and gives people the chance to make a huge difference to children’s lives.
Our foster carers are given 24-hour support and ongoing training and guidance throughout the year. I would encourage people who are considering fostering to attend our information sessions to find out more.
