Exam results advice available
A team of careers advisors will be on hand to support GCSE and A level students as they get their exam results.
Dudley Council’s Connexions advisors will be available this Thursday (August 17) to offer advice and support to A level students getting their exam results.
They can be contacted on 01384 811400 from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
For GCSE students, who will be getting their results next Thursday (August 24) Connexions advisors will be available to speak to in locations across the borough on Thursday August 24 and Friday August 25.
They will be located at Sedgley Community Centre, Dudley Library and Saltwells Education Centre in Netherton from 12.30 to 4.30pm both days.
Then from Tuesday August 29 to Friday September 1, GCSE students can call Connexions on 01384 811400 to book a phone appointment.
The advisors will be able to offer students support and advice on their next steps regardless of whether they got the grades they expected.
Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children and young people, said:
As a child friendly council and borough, we are striving to ensure all children and young people have the opportunities they need to thrive.
Through the support available through our Connexions team we want to send a reassuring message to young people that support is available to them when they get their exam results.
The advisors will be on hand to support in all situations, whether a young person wants to pursue a different career path or if they didn’t get the results they had hoped for.
I recognise that students have worked hard over the last year and wish them the very best in their futures. It will be great to see them fulfil their potential.
Students receiving A level results will be supported by their college and the advice and support available via Connexions is an extra resource.
Young people can also find details of further advice and support on the Happier Minds website, with a link to a guide to results day - https://happierminds.org.uk/young-people/
