Mayor praises work at new inclusion hubs
The Mayor of Dudley has praised the amazing work of staff after visiting four new inclusion hubs in Dudley borough.
The Mayor has visited facilities at Wrens Nest Primary School, Netherton Primary school and Elmfield Primary School in Stourbridge over the last two weeks. She also saw the hub at Caslon Primary School in Halesowen last month.
Dudley Council has commissioned the four early years inclusion hubs to offer specialist provision for children with additional needs.
The hubs offer personalised, targeted and specialist interventions for children and families. They are designed to have a staffing capacity that meets the needs of children with special educational needs in localities across the borough.
Details of a fifth hub are expected to be confirmed soon.
The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Andrea Goddard, said:
“It has been a privilege to meet children at the new inclusion hubs over the last few weeks.
“The children have settled so well into their new early years placements, and it was a joy to see them benefitting from the specialist offer in their localities.
“I would like to praise the dedicated staff who do such amazing work, I have no doubt that the hubs will help the children to prepare for the next steps on their educational journey.”
Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children and educational services, said:
“The inclusion hubs offer provision in areas local to children and their families and will help them to prepare for the future transition into school life.
“Our child friendly Dudley ambition is every child and young person in the borough has the right to grow up in an environment where they feel safe and secure, have access to the right services and are able to learn, play and grow while fulfilling their huge potential.”
