Care experienced young people unveil new identity for young people

Care experienced young people - who have spent time living in the care system, such as foster care, residential children's homes, or kinship care – from Dudley borough, have helped create a bold new brand identity for Dudley Care Experience Team, that puts their voices, experiences, and ambitions at the heart of the support available to them.

Developed through a co-production project between Dudley Council and the young people, the new look, colours, messaging and strapline featured in the brand, were all shaped by young people themselves, ensuring the identity reflects what matters to them most. The new strapline, Growing Together, Creating Our Future, captures a shared commitment to support, opportunity, and achieving goals together.

The identity reinforces the council's commitment to listening to young people and involving them in decisions that affect their lives.

Councillor Wayne Little, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:

"This is a fantastic achievement and one that our care experienced young people should be incredibly proud of.

"From the very beginning, young people have led the thinking behind the new identity of this fantastic service. Their ideas, creativity and lived experience have shaped everything from the design and colours to the powerful message that sits behind it.

"Growing Together, Creating Our Future perfectly reflects our ambition to work alongside young people, not just for them. It recognises that the best services are created when young people are involved in shaping them.

"As a council, we are committed to being the very best corporate parent we can be. This new identity is a visible reminder that the voices of care experienced young people matter, and that they will continue to play a central role in helping us improve support and opportunities for future generations."

Young people involved in the project said they wanted an identity that felt positive, forward-looking and representative of their experiences. The result is a fresh new look that celebrates growth, belonging and the shared journey between young people and those who support them.

The new branding will feature across lots of communications to come, online resources and future engagement activities, helping to create a stronger and more recognisable identity for care experienced young people across Dudley.
