Students praised on GCSE results day
Dudley Council’s cabinet member for children’s services has praised youngsters across the borough, as pupils receive their GCSE results today.
Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children’s services, said:
It has been a challenging two years for pupils, parents and teachers and I know just how much these results mean to everyone who has worked through significant disruption.
Dudley Council is becoming a child friendly borough and it is a joy see so many smiling faces this morning and I’m excited for young people who are preparing to take their next steps into work and further education.
The dedication and enthusiasm pupils have demonstrated during this time, whatever their grades, has been tremendous. They have shown pride, resilience, and tenacity throughout.
Any pupils who are concerned about their grades or are unsure on next steps should talk to their place of learning about their next steps. The Connexions service also has a wealth of resources and advice to tap into.
Students with any concerns about grades are urged to contact their place of study for help and support.
Connexions advisors will be at Dudley north, Dudley Central, Brierley Hill, Stourbridge and Halesowen family centres until 5pm today. Young people seeking career and job information can also visit https://connexionsdudley.org/ or call 01384 811400 to speak to someone or make an appointment.
