Summer programme for Dudley children
Children who are eligible for free school meals in Dudley borough are being offered a fantastic programme of activities for the school holidays.
Dudley Council is working with Dudley Council for Voluntary Services (DCVS) to offer the Holiday Activity Fun (HAF) programme.
Any child in the borough who is aged five to 16 and qualifies for free school meals due to low family income can take part in the free activities.
The guided sessions will be offered in schools, parks, museums, sports grounds and visitor attractions across the borough.
School holiday clubs, where little ones can let off steam and take part in action-packed sports and activity camps, are being organised in selected schools.
At Baggridge Country Park, children can try out the High Ropes adventures and will be invited to join a summer sports camp where they can try karate, fitness and exercise, indoor soft football, dance, yoga and rugby.
Organisers are working with Dudley Zoo, The Black Country Museum and The Canal Trust to offer great family days out for people who would normally not be able to afford it.
A number of other activities are also being organised for all children across the borough. There will be ‘Diddy Dinosaur’ craft sessions at Dudley Museum, a Fairies and Dinosaur Day at Himley Hall and Park, play and adventure at Sycamore Adventure and sports and swimming activities in leisure centres. Partnership working is very important to Dudley Council and we are proud to be working with DCVS and other organisations to run another fantastic summer holiday programme.
HAF is offering children and young people the much-needed opportunity to build their confidence, socialise and have some fun this summer and we are sure families will be pleased with this chance to keep youngsters busy.

In Dudley, we have worked with children, young people, their families, and schools to ask what activities children and young people would really benefit from.
We want this to be an enriching experience that gives many of our children a chance to try new things they may not have tried before or visit places they may not have had the opportunity to visit.
Families must be in receipt of low-income or benefits related free school meals to qualify for the free school meal activities.
Parents will to need to register their child online at https://holidayactivitiesindudley.com/register-your-child/. A unique reference code and link will then be sent to enable them to book onto the activities.
