Survey underway as family centres become hubs

Dudley Council is inviting people to have their say on the borough’s five local family hubs, which were formally known as family centres.

The hubs, located in Dudley, Brierley Hill, Coseley, Lye and Stourbridge, are set to get £3.7 million of government funding through the Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme over the next three years.

The Dudley Family Hub Network includes building-based, outreach and online support offers, and will see the borough’s five existing family centres become family hubs.

As the hubs develop, the local authority wants to know about people’s experiences of using the centres.

Dudley Council will use the information to help monitor progress as well as review and improve the services.

Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children and educational services, said:

Dudley is one of 75 local authority areas across the country to receive funding and we will get more than £3.7 million to provide services for the next three years.
As family centres across the borough change to become local family hubs, we want to find out people’s views of the original centres and how they have been using them to date.
This feedback will play a part in the work we are doing to create the hubs and it will help us to evaluate the changes we are making in the future, so it’s really important that people who use the service take part.
The survey takes around eight minutes to complete and closes on Friday 21 July.
